FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

1.) Are there any restrictions or conditions with regards to my annual mileage?

Your annual mileage for the duration of your lease period will be estimated at the start of your leasing contract with Citreon Car Leasing. If you do go over this agreed mileage figure you will occur a charge, these fees are agreed in advance.

2.) Who will supply the car to me?

All the vehicles we issue out are sourced through UK Citroen manufacturers.

3.) Will my car have a warranty?

Yes, as with all new cars, it will come with a full UK manufacturer’s warranty.

4.) What happens if I breakdown?

All our vehicles come with either 12 months or 3 years breakdown cover.

5.) Whose responsibility is it to insure the vehicle?

It is your own responsibility to ensure the lease vehicle is properly insured.

6.) Who is responsible for paying the road tax?

The majority of our contracts include the cost of the road tax. The car will be delivered to you fully taxed, and further tax disks will be sent to you annually.

7.) What about the delivery and collection of my car?

The delivery is free to any UK address. The collection will vary depending on the contact you have, but in most cases the finance company will collect the vehicle once the contract has ended.

8.) What happens at the end of my contract?

Depending on the type of contract you have there are normally three options available to you. You can either, hand back the vehicle, extend the contract or purchase the vehicle from the finance company.

9.) What happens if I go over the mileage we agreed at the start of the contract?

Additional mileage costs are agreed at the start of the contact and are usually charged per mile. So for example an agreed excess of 5p per mile, 1000 miles over the agreed mileage agreement would result in a £50 charge. If you know in advance you are going to exceed your mileage agreement, you can amend this part of your agreement at any time, as long as it is more than 6 months before the end of your contract.

10.) Why are there different deals for private and business leasing?

Private leasing includes VAT, whereas business leasing does not.

11.) Who is responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle?

The responsibility to ensure the car is adequately maintained lies with you, and our prices do not include the cost of maintenance. However, we do offer an optional maintenance package which includes full manufacturers servicing, breaks, exhaust, tyres, battery, and labour costs.

12.) Which is more cost effective, leasing on a private or business contract?

This would depend upon your VAT status. The business leasing contracts are designed for VAT registered businesses.

13.) I am confused by all the different finance packages you offer, what is the difference?

The main difference between these different packages is the flexibility to retain your car when the lease comes to an end. You may want to retain the vehicle, return the vehicle or you may want to leave these decisions until further down the line.

14.) I can’t find the exact car I want on your website, what should I do now?

Give us a call! We are here to help you. We have an excellent relationship with our manufacturers and will do everything we can to find your dream car for you.

15.) Will you only lease cars to well established businesses?

No, we have no fixed rules as to who we do or do not lease our cars to. Each customer is an individual case.

16.) I’ve always had a company car but now I’ve decided to opt out. Can I lease a car with you?

Yes, we can lease you a vehicle on a personal lease contract.

17.)  Why should I lease rather than buy a car?

There are several advantages to leasing, rather than buying a car. Mainly with leasing you can lease a brand new car for 3 years, then return it and lease another brand new car. It is also easy to budget by spreading the payments out over the lease contract, rather than having to pay up front for the car.

18.)  Can I change my car half way through my contract?

No, the only element of the contact which can be amended once you have entered into it is the agreed estimated mileage. This can be amended as long as you have 6 months or more remaining on your contract.

19.)  Do I need to pay a deposit with leasing?

The rates displayed on the website are our standard contract which would require a deposit of 3 months up front. However, we can change these contracts and tailor them to meet your specific needs. Please ring us to discuss this further.

20.)  Will the car I get be brand new?

Yes, that is the beauty of car leasing, all the cars Citreon Car Leasing issue are brand new (unless stated otherwise).
